This city-owned facility has up to 2,650 seats, 860 permanent and 1990 portable. Seating configuration differs with type of event: concerts 2,650, ice events 860, basketball 1,360, and boxing 2,650. The facility, when used for exhibits and trade shows has 15,500 sq feet concrete floor (191' x 80' ice rink) and provides a 48' x 32' portable stage. 600V electrical, 14' x' 12' freight doors.

This city-owned facility has up to 7,000 seats, 5,000 permanent and 2,000 portable. Seating configuration differs with type of event: concerts 7,000, ice events 5,000, basketball 5,500, and boxing 7,000. The facility, when used for exhibits and trade shows has 21,785 sq feet concrete floor (191' x 80' ice rink), a 48' ceiling, and provides a 48' x 32' portable stage. 600V electrical, 16' x' 12' freight doors.

Halifax Metro Centre-Arena

902 421-8000 902 422-2922 (fax) This city-owned facility it is the home for athletics, St Mary's Hockey Huskies, Basketball, and professional teams and leagues including the QMJHL Halifax Mooseheads. The arena has seating for 10,000 with 9,515 permanent. Most events seat 10,000, though a concert seats 4,000. The facility has a 53' ceiling, terrazzo floor (with a 200 lb/sq ft load limit), a 48' by 60' portable stage, a 200' by 85' ice surface. Exhibit area totals 40,000 square ft. Opened in 1915 as the Strand Theatre and designed by Nova Scotia's first professionally-trained architect, Andrew Cobb. After a serious fire in 1926, the theatre reopened as a cinema, and in 1962 the Neptune Theatre Foundation with the help of Colonel Sydney Oland purchased the building, and re-opened it as the Neptune Theatre. In 1997, the New Neptune Facility re-opened and now houses a 479 seat Mainstage Theatre, also known as Fountain Hall (for David and Margaret Fountain), the new 200 seat Studio Theatre, and the Ford Centre where the Theatre School studios and office are located.

The university has three faciliteis that are used for various events: <
  • The Alumni Arena, seats 1,200 at an ice arena with a 185' x 85' rink.
  • The Tower Gymnasium provides seating for 1,500 people
  • The Huskies Stadium, used by the ANAA, and CIAU St Mary;s University Huskies, provides seating for 5,500 permanent, 4,500 portable, and 2,000 standing room. It has artifical turf and night lighting. There is on-site parking for 850 vehicles.
