Restaurants in the province run the gamut from rustic to "diner" to haute
decor, with the most choices in Halifax's downtown, but with plenty more eateries in Bedford, Sackville and Dartmouth.
If you are touring the province, whether on bike or by car, time your trips into towns for the mealtimes.
When you're in the Maritimes you've got to try the local seafood. Shellfish, lobster, and of course seafood are the local specialties. Even the local McDonald's serves lobster! Halifax has a number of top establishments, including the Five Fishermen , McKelvie's, the recently opened Little Fish Restaurant., or the great views at MacAskill's on Alderney Drive in Dartmouth.
Halifax's northern winters often bring out a strong desire to sample the sharper flavours of warmer climes, particularly from around the Mediterranean. Check out Turkish food (at Anatolia), Greek food (Opa Greek Taverna or . Athens Restaurant)
